The whole world, in your language
womiin works in 18 languages — because knowing a place deeply should belong to everyone, not only to those who read English.
womiin exists to close the gap between what a place really is and what you're told about it. That only counts if it reaches you — so the app speaks your language, with the same evidence and the same womiin Score for everyone.
A language most of the world already shares
Shaded by the share of each country that speaks one of the 18 languages.
Coverage is estimated from Unicode CLDR territory-language data (v48.2.0): for each country we take the share of people who speak each supported language — as a first or second language — and combine them into the share who speak at least one. Figures are rounded down and use “roughly” / “over”; real speaker counts vary by source. World population baseline: CLDR (~8.1 billion). A less conservative count, summing per country, puts reach as high as ~66%.

A note on our translations
We want womiin to feel natural in your language — not translated at you. Most of our translations begin with automated tooling and are then refined by native speakers. We aim for phrasing you'd actually use, rather than word-for-word.
Some rough edges and less-than-idiomatic moments will remain, and we keep improving them. If something reads wrong in your language, tell us — we read every suggestion, and we're grateful for them.
Questions about languages
How many languages does womiin support?
18 language options across the whole app — 17 languages, with Portuguese offered in both European and Brazilian forms. Everything you interact with — the interface, your womiin Score, field guides, itineraries — appears in the language you choose.
Is this website translated too?
Not yet. The app itself is fully localised; this website stays in English while we roll the translations out. It's a deliberate order — the product first.
How do I change my language?
Open Settings → Regional and pick your language. It takes effect immediately, on every device you sign in on.
How do you calculate the coverage figure?
From open Unicode CLDR data: for each country we combine the shares of people who speak each supported language — first or second language — into the share who speak at least one, then add it up across the world. We round down and say “roughly.”
Which language are you adding next?
Romanian, Russian, and Arabic are next, with a wave of European languages to follow. Each ships when it reads naturally, not just when it's translated — so we don't put a date on it.
